Are you using MS Outlook and want to configure RR email? Well, you can do so by using either POP or IMAP settings. If you don’t know the difference between the two, then that’s is exactly what we will be discussing today.
In POP, your received emails are temporarily stored on the server waiting to be retrieved by your mail, so it is temporary storage. With optional settings, we can force the server to keep the emails received for a specific period of time and possibly retrieve them from several couriers. This system remains very basic and has disadvantages: your emails are not saved if you recover your emails from multiple couriers your actions on one are not reflected on the other (you delete an email on your smartphone, it will be still present on your computer).
In IMAP, your emails remain on the server and all the messaging that connects to the account synchronizes with it. This is the mode we recommend. Your actions from a messaging are then passed on to others. The server also keeps your emails sent, trash, draft, etc., which guarantees a kind of backup (off address book). The disadvantage is that your emails remain on the server, disk space is consumed and our hosting packages have a limited quota, but can be increased as an option.

Security notifications
If you have chosen STARTTLS or SSL security options, and you have not correctly configured the send and receive servers with Roadrunner Email Sign In, you will have a window that allows you to accept a security exception. If this is the case, you have to modify the configuration of your servers as mentioned above: the server must always be the one you have indicated on the form.
