It is possible that you can receive emails in Roadrunner email account configured with your email program, but you receive an error message when sending emails. It doesn’t happen too often, but if this is what you have been dealing with for past several days, then you must figure out a way to find out as to why you are facing this issue and how to fix it.
Check whether the email has been entered for outgoing mail
Go to the advanced settings of your outgoing mail and check whether the password of your mail is also entered there.
Check the port number
Many internet providers block the default port number for outgoing email when you contact an external SMTP server. You can use port 587 to work around this. If your email program does not use TLS security protocol and you use SSL, use port 465. For specific instructions on how to do this with your email program, you can use the support page for your email program.
Check the server name
If you want to use the Roadrunner server for outgoing email, you must use “smtp.rr.com” as the server name. It is better to view the support page for your email program for specific instructions.
Log in SMTP server
If you receive an error message “550 Relay not permitted” when sending a message, you are not correctly logged in to the RR Com Login SMTP server. Check your username and password in the settings for the SMTP server in your email program. You can try logging into the webmail by going to www RR Com and enter your username and password.
Your virus scanner blocks the mail
If you have a virus scanner running on your computer, then that in some cases can cause your mail program to malfunction because the virus scanner is set too strict. By temporarily turning off the virus scanner and testing whether you can now send mail, you can test whether it is causing the problem.
Re-create SMTP server
You can always completely remove the SMTP server and add it again to the email program. Sometimes a bug in the email program can cause the SMTP server not to be installed properly right away.
Your internet connection
In rare cases, it sometimes happens that the internet connection that has been set up by your provider is blocking the traffic on specific ports. This can be in your router or in another way. If none of the above solutions have helped you can approach your internet provider for certainty.
Your mail will be sent but will not appear in the Sent folder
With Apple Mail, it often happens that sent emails do not end up in the right folder. If you have configured your RR email with Apple Mail app, then you could too experience the same problem. You will have to take the help of experts in order to send emails in the right folders so that you can easily find them.
